Intermodal Dispatcher (m/ž)

Summary

We handle international freight generally within a 150-200 mile radius of Chicago. Potential applicants are responsible for coordinating the picking up and delivering of freight from start to finish through communication between drivers, in-office staff, and outside customers. Once fully trained, potential applicants will be asked to rotate an after-hour emergency phone which may lead to evening and weekend work.

Requirements

• Have 1 year of Truck dispatcher experience
• Effective communication/customer service skills through multiple platforms including phone and email
• Strong computer skills
• Tracing inbound container
• Scheduling delivery & pick up appointments
• Keeping customers informed on the status of their loads
• Exchanging load information with drivers so they can complete loads
• Collecting load information from drivers
• In / Out Times
• Shipment Information
• Performing other tasks to assist the lead dispatcher

Qualifications

• Previous dispatching, or closely related experience, in the transportation industry preferred
• Willing to learn company-specific computer programs
• Proficient in English (oral and written)
• Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities
• Active listener with excellent communication skills
