About the Data Engineer Position

As a Data Engineer at RUBICON, you will be pivotal in designing and developing data pipelines, models, and analyses that unlock new business opportunities. You will play a key role in driving transformation into a data-driven organization, turning Big Data analytics into a competitive advantage across various business areas. Your expertise will ensure data is accurate, accessible, and optimally structured for insightful analysis and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop data pipelines, models, integrations, and analytics solutions
• Perform large-scale data transformations using PySpark, SQL, and scripting languages
• Ingest, process, and manage data from diverse sources, formats, and technologies
• Build and maintain scalable data processing architectures and workflows
• Ensure seamless data flow between data sources and consumers (e.g., analysts, data scientists, and stakeholders)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data needs across the organization

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 2+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and PySpark
• Familiarity with Agile development practices and CI/CD workflows
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to translate non-technical business requirements into data solutions
• Excellent communication skills, especially when explaining complex topics to non-technical audiences
• Attention to detail and a passion for data quality
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)

Nice to know/have experience with:

• Experience with Git and version control workflows
• Hands-on experience with Azure and/or Databricks environments
• Advanced SQL capabilities (beyond querying — e.g., optimization, stored procedures)
• Experience building robust, scalable, high-quality data products
