Who are you?

Our next-generation SAAS platform extensively uses an exciting mixture of technologies using Amazon Web Services for stability and high availability. We use Snowflake as a data warehouse, and reports are generated using a combination of MicroStrategy and custom SQL scripts.

We practice Continuous Integration and use GitLab for our version control and integration pipelines.

As a Sr. Data Analyst with Virgin Pulse, you will work to ensure that the data in our databases and reporting are accurate and reliable. You will work in a fast-paced environment with teams building database tables, creating data pipelines, creating complex SQL flat file reports, and building business intelligence reports and dashboards. You can work on a fast-paced team that maintains the data and reporting pipeline. ?These teams will work with you to ensure that all reports have solid quality testing and are without error.

You will also work directly with our internal and external clients. You will work closely with data platform management, account management, our sponsors, ETL, data warehouse, business intelligence, and reporting teams

In this role you will wear many hats, but your knowledge will be essential in the following:  

• Serves as the day-to-day point of contact for data quality assurance activities.
• Attending live client calls to respond to client questions and needs quickly.
• Conducts quality review of file contents and transmission protocols to ensure accuracy and integrity.
• Provides data file strategy and tactical support.
• Ensures consistency and clarity of requirements definition and internal documentation and resources.
• Provides proactive notifications to clients regarding file issues.
• Problem-solving and root-cause analysis
• All other duties as assigned.

What you bring to the Virgin Pulse team

In order to represent the best of what we have to offer you come to us with a multitude of positive attributes including:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent?experience.
• Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent highly preferred but not required.
• Expert in writing complex SQL, including pivots, window functions, and complex date calculations.
• 5 plus years of experience doing quality assurance work with data, data files, or data visualizations.
• Experience in testing and quality assurance processes and methods.
• Python programming language knowledge.
• Intermediate Python knowledge.
• Microsoft Excel experience.
